Special Use Permit Approved for Saint
Martha's Church Expansion

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township board approved a special use permit for Saint Martha's church to expand. The motion carried unanimously. The space will be used to create a gym on Saint Martha's property. The expansion is not expected to cause traffic problems or conflicts in the community. The space will also be used for bicycle paring space. The board was not aware of this development until recently. However, it does see the addition of the parking space being problematic.
"I had looked into the bicycle parking issue and realize that it comes to us at the later phase, and I really don't see a need for father to address at this time. His architect did mention at our last meeting that he is a bicyclist himself and would be looking carefully at that," said Ronald Styka, Township Board Trustee.
