MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The concert series Music in the Park has returned to Meridian Township. The event takes place in the Meridian Historical Village. It has been a staple of the community for 20 years now. The most recent performance came from the Blue Water Ramblers, a Michigan folk band. The last concert was cancelled due to weather. This time, local residents were happy to be outdoors.

"Well I came out tonight because it was a beautiful night and I enjoyed these concerts last year and I think they should be attended by the folks in Okemos and Meridian Township so they can give their support to the people that put these on," said Meridian Township resident Mary MacDowell.

Only three concerts remain in the series. The next concert will take place on July 10th. It will feature an acoustic bluegrass band named Lost Hitchhikers.
