MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township is moving into the third year of the deer management program, but there are still many complaints from residents about too many deer. While the program is doing its job, the township board is taking about adding way to better the program.

Trustee John Veenstra has this to say about what the township board wants to see in the next hunting season, "I think our goal for the coming season should be to get that doubled again. So from killing roughly 100 deer our goal should be to have 200 killed." »

Other additions that were discussed was the extending of the hunting season, adding more private land, and finding more qualified hunters.
