UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township Parks & Recreation Department along with the Park Commission hosted their annual Friends of the Park Volunteer recognition ceremony.

Volunteers in the community gathered to receive awards for their outstanding contributions to the community.

"I was very surprised to receive the award," said Barbara Kissling, Parks Friend of the Year winner. "I wasn't even thinking about the award existing."

"So when they said my name I just continued to sit there and think, they called my name," said Kissling.

Meridian Township Park Awarded several people with awards, but only selected one Park Friend of the Year winner.
