UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Okemos is getting creative. A new store gives you a reason to change how you party.

Local artists Susie Brewster, Vivian Dwyer and Leslie Raven have opened a new studio called Arty Party in downtown Okemos, providing a unique place for art classes, lunch parties and art parties. The owners chose the downtown location because of its potential.

"I always wanted to be downtown, it's very near my home, and Douglas J with their big project that they're doing I really have a feeling downtown Okemos is about to happen and I wanted to be here before I couldn't afford it," said Vivian Dwyer, Co Owner of The Arty Party Studi.

Craft sessions will cost $25-$35 depending on the project and catering is available for hosting parties. The wine-and-cheese grand opening event for the Arty Party Studio is on March 9th from 2-8 pm.
