Stealth vs. Force

Stealth vs. Force

UPDATE: OKEMOS - The Capital City Stealth played their hearts out this week as they faced the West Michigan Force at home. In the end, the force were able to come out on top.

From the beginning things seemed to be going well for the Stealth. A quick touchdown and field goal put them on top and their defense wasn't allowing the Force to do much of anything. A mid second quarter interception for a touchback was the last highlight before the train started to derail and mistakes became too prominent in the Stealth's game.

"Offensively we started off really good, moved right down the field, scored. Second drive we got a good turnover from the defense, they played really hard today and got that turnover for us. Got us down inside the 10 and you know, we had to kick a field goal." - Frank Cugini, Offensive Coordinator, Capital City Stealth

As mistakes started happening the Stealth began to lose focus and composure. Soon the West Michigan Force had taken the game over and went into halftime with a 14 point lead. From there, the Stealth sustained a long drive upon receiving the ball in the second half, only to come up empty handed.

The Stealth put up a valiant effort, but they came up a little short as turnovers and other mistakes proved to be too costly.

"In the end of the day, you're still a team, team concept, and you want to try and play to your strengths, and you know we just had some breakdowns when we least needed them." - Demetrius Jones, Defensive Coordinator, Capital City Stealth

Soon the Force were leading 27-10 and they never looked back. A defensive interception that lead to a touchdown for the Stealth was called back as it was ruled that they were off sides. Another late opportunity to score was snubbed by a 7th turnover by the Stealth.

This was the second loss in a row for the Capital City Stealth as they are trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. With the loss, they drop to five and four on the season.
