UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - There will soon be a new place in Okemos for kids to learn to swim.

Last week, the Meridian Township Planning Commission approved the Construction of Goldfish Swim School under a special use permit.

The indoor facility will have swim classes for the kids, family swim time, and other swim related activities and events.

Owner of Quatro Construction, Todd Quatro, says the new facility would be a great addition to the community.

"The Goldfish Swim School has been a real positive impact on all the communities they've been in. Most of the instructors are all Olympic Trained, or have been involved in the trials. A couple of them have actually been in the Olympics" said Todd.

The new facility will be located on Marsh Road, adjacent to the PetSmart facility.
