Candlelight Vigil

Candlelight Vigil

UPDATE: HASLETT - Hundreds of students and community members gathered at Haslett High School dressed in purple and blue for a candlelight vigil.

The vigil was put together to remember Emily Rapson, a Haslett High School student who recently passed away. She would have been a junior in the fall.

Each person wrote a message on a balloon about Emily and they were released in remembrance.

The crowd then lit candles and walked a lap around the track.

"Emily had one of the prettiest smiles I have ever seen. It was so big and she never had it off her face, she always wore it. I am going to miss her a lot. She had so many friends, she was one of the nicest girls I knew," said Haslett sophomore Mara Porritt.

Emily's family and friends are very thankful for the community support and the turnout. Emily's organs were donated and because of this she saved six lives.
