UPDATE: LANSING - In Ingham County a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house were held for the 911 Central Dispatch Center, which combined the Lansing and East Lansing dispatches.

According to Meridian Township Police Chief, Dave Hall, this will save residents a lot of money. Hall says an estimated one million dollars a year will be saved of taxpayer money. Hall was also proud to say that the communication between the two dispatches will improve.

"One thing that I think is going to benefit Meridian Township and Williamstown Township is that we will be on one talk group. One frequency whereas for this first year and a half we used two different talk groups," said Dave Hall.
