Williamston Recreation Contract

Williamston Recreation Contract

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Recreational sports are a right of passage for most young people.

"They're very important...to both of my boys," said Brian Johnson, president of Williamston youth sports.

This will be the second year Meridian Township will provide recreation services to Williamston.

It doesn't cost Meridian Township anything extra--the costs are covered by registration fees and whatever is left over, the township gives back to Williamston.

Meridian Township and Williamston have taken this opportunity to combine some of their smaller leagues to give the kids a chance to play more teams.

The agreement is a one year contract that will likely be renewed yearly, or until Williamston has the funding and staffing to support the leagues on their own.
