MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - What makes the Harris Nature Center special? The river. It changes with the seasons and displays various beauties.
The Harris Nature Center Foundation plans to build a river overlook near the back of the center at the northwest corner. The Red Cedar River provides a unique landscape for the Harris Nature Center, yet during half of the year; trees and bushes hide a view of the river. Supporters of the Harris Nature Center are working on finding funds now. An overlook would provide school and day camp for children, as well as the casual visitor, with an unobstructed view of the river.
