Project Prom

Project Prom

UPDATE: OKEMOS - Project Prom held their final event at Okemos High School on Sunday, April 15th.

The event started with a fashion show and ended with a sale of gently used dresses ranging from $20.00 to $40.00. All of the dresses not purchased Sunday are now on sale at Sequel's Consignments in Williamston. The proceeds from
these dresses will go to benefit Project Prom and their future events, potentially expanding the program to Homecoming or other dances.

Brian Williams, the Project Prom Advisor at Okemos High School said, "This is the 6th time we've done a fashion show fundraiser. It's the 6th year of Project Prom, but we've never tried to do a dress sale before. So, always we've had a fashion show and its' been an event in and of itself. Today we had a little fashion show at the beginning and we had a nice turn out for that quite a few people here and there, then it dwindled pretty quickly from there. So it gives us information to go on and hopefully build on that in the future."

Students of need have the opportunity to apply and have up to all of their prom costs covered. The goal of Project Prom is to make the night affordable for everyone at Okemos High School.
