Rising Gas Prices

Rising Gas Prices

UPDATE: LANSING - “Too much, too much…”
These are the thoughts many residents of the Meridian Township area have when they think of one thing...gas prices.

Over the past 15 days, gas prices across Michigan have climbed to as much as 40 cents a gallon, and for gas station managers, like Jim Little of H & H Mobile, they saw it coming...due to the various factors overseas.

“The improving economic situations in most of the industrialized countries are causing
an area demand for oil products. We’ve been told between four and five dollars a gallon
by mid summer,” said Little.

With gas prices being the highest they’ve been in quite some time here in Michigan, residents in the Meridian Township area seem to be finding home in a different
alternative.

“Alternative energy sources.”

“Finding alternative sources of energy and kind of opening up our resources at home.
Both oil and gas and clean energy too.”

One of those sources happens to be electricity, as charging stations like the one at Jim's, are becoming more and more common around Michigan.

That's right, Jim is a proud owner of an electric vehicle. While others look for different options in saving money.

“Biking, running, jogging, umm…canoeing…*laughter*

All in all, it seems as though many of us are just going to have to deal with the problem.

“I think I just spent 90 dollars to fill up. A full tank of gas, with a big truck it’s a lot.”
