Flashlight Egg Hunt in Meridian Township

Flashlight Egg Hunt in Meridian Township

HASLETT, MI - The Meridian Township Parks & Recreation Department held their annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at Nancy Moore Park on Saturday, April 8.

Pre-registration was required to attend the event, which began at 6:00 pm. Children’s activities were also in place such as a petting zoo, arts & crafts, bonfires with marshmallow roasting and more. Families had the privilege to take a photo of their children with the Easter Bunny, as well as join them with a dance along in front of the pavilion.

The egg hunt began once nightfall hit at 9:00 pm, with each hunter using a flashlight on their own while accompanied by an adult.

“It’s been a great community and a successful program, with over 1,000 people here at the park. We have 12,000 eggs with everyone at least getting 25. We have some special eggs and if the kids find that, they get an extra prize," said Mike Devlin, Meridian Parks & Recreation Specialist. "Our motto is creating community through people, parks, and programs. That’s what we’re doing. We’re bringing our community together and creating a great program for families to be together.”
