• A small collection of native plants

HARRIS NATURE CENTER - On Tuesday March 22nd, the Harris Nature Center hosted a class about native plants.

The class was lead by Vern Stephens of Designs by Nature LLC and he shared some tips on planting a more effective and natural garden.

Designs by Nature is a fully licensed greenhouse that sells plants that are indigenous to Michigan meaning they are the most adapted to Michigan climate which makes them easier to take care of.

The class also learned how to identify some native plants and tips on removing non-native plants along with tips on how to effectively buy plants so you don't buy more than you need.

For those to want to purchase plants, there is an upcoming Native Plant's Sale on May 7th from 9am to 2pm.
