Reindeer Return to CADL Library Branches

Reindeer Return to CADL Library Branches

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - With Christmas fast approaching, the Capital Area District Libraries (CADL) in association with the Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farm, hosted events throughout the Lansing area allowing children to meet and pet live reindeer from their farm.

On December 14, the reindeer made their stop at the Okemos Library Branch. The majestic creatures were available for viewing, petting and feeding. Carrots weren't on the menu, as they are not a part of a reindeer's natural diet because they don't have incisor teeth on their upper jaw. They prefer to eat mosses, herbs, ferns, grass and leaves.

Community members enjoyed the free event with hot chocolate, cookie and a take home craft.
