Present Wrapping Party for Seniors

Present Wrapping Party for Seniors

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Town Hall Room was full of colorful wrapping paper, Christmas music and volunteers preparing presents for seniors who might of otherwise not received anything this Christmas if not for the Be A Santa To A Senior campaign.

How the Be A Santa To A Senior campaign works is that a senior would write down what they want and the donator would get a paper ornament card with the seniors request. The donator would then fulfill that request and send off to volunteers who wrap the presents. Once the presents are wrapped, the seniors pick them up or get the presents delivered.

The event creator is Home Instead, an organization that does home care for seniors so that they can live in their homes. The Be A Santa To A Senior event started twenty years ago.

Amy Esterline, one of the volunteers at the event and Franchise Owner of the Lansing branch of Home Instead shares her gratitude, "I would like to thank Meridian township for not only hosting the event but providing gifts to seniors. "

Amy Esterline would also like to thank, Capital Regional Community Foundation, Sparrow Hospital, Buhl, Little, Lynwood & Harris attorney and Schuler's Bookstore.
