Meridian Township Opens Artificial Ice Rink

Meridian Township Opens Artificial Ice Rink

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township has just received a new artificial ice rink for this winter. Multiple citizens of the area culminated to create a recreational area for people of all ages to skate.

LuAnn Maisner, Meridian's Parks and Recreation Director, stated, "We're just so excited about being able to open this to the community, and then we've been so fortunate to have support from the Haslett-Okemos Kiwanis Club. Delta Dental provided a very large amount of money to help create our lending bin, and also to purchase skates."

Numerous events are being planned for the ice rink this winter, including hot cocoa and music. The ice rink will be up until the month of April, giving skaters ample time to try out the rink.
