Meridian Township Board Recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township passed a resolution to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month at the Township Board meeting on Sept. 21.

Hispanic Heritage Month is from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 and the month stresses the importance of refinishing the influence and contributions that Hispanic Americans have had to the United States.

Treasurer Phil Deschaine asked to read the full resolution detailing the importance of this month. The Township packet included this statement about the resolution:

“During the month from September 15 to October 15, Meridian Township’s Hispanic-American community celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month through a series of special programs featuring Hispanic history, food, dance and art.”
