1st Annual Meridian Motor Fest a Success

OKEMOS, MI - High Caliber Karting and Entertainment hosted the first annual Meridian Motor Fest on Saturday September 4 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at 1982 W. Grand River Ave, Suite 800.

The event was sponsored by the Meridian Economic Development Corporation and the purpose was to raise money for charity with the proceeds going towards Meridian Cares. Pre-registration began August 14th with a $10 fee and $15 in person the day of the event.

A total of 175 cars came to this event and the first 50 cars received a goody bag of the day from local businesses in Meridian Township, along with a High Caliber decal for the first annual show. There were trophy awards for 15 different classes on different levels including Best Domestic, Import, Most Ridiculous, plus 4 different competitions and the varied from Car Limbo, Loudest Exhaust, Loudest Stereo, and Shoot the Largest Fireball where people would shoot out their exhaust.

HOMTV spoke with Jordan Munsters, the President of High Caliber, “Last year everybody was shut down, we didn’t have car shows, we didn’t have cruise-ins. Everybody missed it and it’s a very tight community out here. Everybody knows one another and comes through and everyone was excited to get everyone together to host something here.”

High Caliber plans on hosting this event in the future and someday Munsters hopes to fill the Meridian Mall and added, “It’s awesome to see everyone get together. I had one of the girls from the limbo contest say that was the most fun she had in 2 years. That’s what we’re about at High Caliber, getting people to have fun and creating joy and that’s connecting people. That’s what we’re doing out here and everyone is a part of that. I’m thankful we have an awesome community for this.”
