INGHAM COUNTY - Okemos and Haslett Public Schools were ranked among the top four best school districts in the Lansing area for the year 2021. Okemos was rated the number one best district and best place to teach. Haslett was ranked number four in both categories.

The schools’ honorable rankings were posted by the website “Niche”, which uses data from the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate the schools. This data includes test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and millions of reviews from students and parents.

Okemos Public Schools were rated an “A+” in the areas of academics, teachers and college preparation. They were rated an “A-” in diversity, administration, health and safety, and sports. The students’ graduation rate is 95%.

Haslett Public Schools were rated an “A+” in academics. They were rated an “A” for teachers and college preparation. The graduation rate is 96%.
