LANSING, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) received approval on their 2021-2025 Five-Year Transportation Program.

The program outlines MDOT’s initiatives, revenues, and specific transportation projects planned for the next five years in each of their seven regions. It also includes future featured projects, 2021 investment focus, a list of planned road and bridge projects, and MDOT region contact information.

Several Ingham County repairs and replacement projects will be happening during the five-year program. With bridge replacement, all work will be done on US-127 N. Repairing and rebuilding roads in the county will span from I-496 E to US-127.

The program also outlines the economic benefits for all transportation modes in Michigan, which includes highways, public transit, rail, air, marine, and nonmotorized transportation.

Other projects include Gov. Whitmer’s Rebuilding Michigan program, which addresses the rebuilding of highly traveled interstates, such as I-69, I-75, and I-94, along with other busy freeways.

MDOT is inviting the public to comment on the program now through Feb.25. The full program is available on MDOT’s website. A summary of the comments will be included in the final document posted to the website on March 1, 2021.
