Ingham County Animal Shelter Suspends Animal Intake After Big Dog Rescue

HASLETT - Over the weekend, Ingham County Animal Control Officers rescued over 30 dogs and puppies in Haslett after receiving a welfare complaint.

The animals were transported to Mason and are being cared for at the Ingham County Animal Shelter.

Some of the dogs rescued have significant health concerns that will be taken care of before they are available for adoption.

Due to the number of dogs currently in the shelter combined with the large number of dogs received as a result of the rescue this weekend, the shelter is temporarily suspending animal intakes to the shelter.

The shelter is encouraging members of the community that want to help to adopt or foster one of the animals if they have the ability to.

Additionally, the shelter has an Animal Cruelty Tip Line that is anonymous.
