2019 Music in Nature Series Concludes with Final Concert

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Saturday, September 14th the Harris Nature Center held its final 2019 concert of it's new Music in Nature series. The event was open to the public and went from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and visitors were able to bring family and friends to enjoy the great outdoors, listening to live music at the Gathering Circle outdoors music-concert style, or walking the trails, and sitting from another area.

The music was performed by Strings and Woods, a trio comprised of three Meridian Township employees, Kati Adams, LeRoy Harvey, and Matt Foreman, who is known locally for being the lead vocals and guitar for the Mama Tryd Band, LeRoy Harvey is a member of the popular group Whoa Nelly, and Kati Adams, the Senior Park Naturalist a new Harris Nature Center Coordinator.

Adams said that this was the first time the Center has done anything like this and Music In Nature was a trial run for the Summer, and the concert was the last one of this season.

“It was exciting because it was made up by three Meridian Township employee’s so we all got together and saved us a great excuse to get everyone together and play. The support from the community has been incredible, every concert has had a great turn out. The Harris Nature Center Foundation is to thank for everything. This was a free event to everybody because it was sponsored by them and are looking forward to doing it next year with even more concerts.” Adams also said “It was a good trial and was successful and I think people really enjoy it," said Adams.
