Goldfish Swim School Holds Annual Water Safety Day Event

OKEMOS - On May 18, Goldfish Swim School celebrated their annual Water Safety Day event. Water Safety is a big part of their curriculum, serving children in the Greater Lansing area for the past five years and teaching swim lessons to those between four months to 12 years.

Athena Antonis is the Marketing and Event Coordinator at Goldfish Swim School.

"We invite various safety organizations in the area to come to provide resources and information and we allow individuals to swim in our pool and we have lifeguards around that are available to talk about our curriculum and our program."

Meridian Township Firefighters were also present at the event and Dan Ackles, a firefighter and paramedic, gave some quick safety tips.

"Wear your personal flotation devices and always watch your kids when they are at or near the water."
