Township Board Considers Time Adjustments For Vendors

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MI - At the March 5th Township Board meeting, Township Community Planning and Development Director Mark Kieselbach discussed setting limitations for vendors coming to residential areas late at night in the winter and summer.

Supervisor Ron Styka has also heard from residents on the matter, and they don’t feel comfortable with vendors coming to them after dark.

Treasurer Phil Deschaine was in support of Supervisor Styka’s proposal.

Clerk Brett Dreyfus brought to everyone’s attention that most people don’t get home until after 5pm. Having anything less than 6pm would diminish freedom of speech.

Supervisor Styka was in favor of adjusting the times for Vending in both winter and summer and will discuss it more going forward.
