How-To Halloween
City of Lansing and LEPFA
How-To Halloween is a family-friendly festival that celebrates the do-it-yourself spirit of haunt season with hands-on activities, theatrical displays, interactive games, unique vendors and great entertainment. Our mission is to inspire kids and the “kids at heart” to head into their garages, basements or local maker spaces and build something cool for the holiday. Along the way, we hope they get excited about the creative process after trying any of the 50+ make-n-takes, demo sessions and how-to labs hosted by our vendors and exhibitors which include the Lansing Makers Network, ITEC Lansing, REACH Studio Art Center, Aspiring Games Foundation, the Grand Rapids Public Museum and the Lansing Parks and Recreation to name a few. For our fifth annual event, we are honoring the female superheroes (and antiheroes) as a force to be reckoned with in a series of guests that we call the Women Of Power. We’ve invited Capital City Wonder Woman as our 2018 headliner along with other featured cosplay artists such as Bombshell Batwoman from the Lansing Batman crew, Princess Moana from The League of Enchantment and many more. We are also unveiling a locally built replica of KITT from the Knight Rider tv show of the 80s. Plus, there will be trick-or-treating stations for the kids, an expanded haunted walkthrough for the grown ups and an amazing stage show with dancers, a magician and music by JAMMIN’ DJs throughout the day.
