MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Plans to continue developing Copper Creek are scheduled to move forward after the February 5th Meridian Township Board meeting.
The Board voted unanimously to progress the development project after speaking with residents and the developer of Copper Creek to compromise on previous increased traffic safety concerns after the developer wanted to build an extension onto the Wood Knoll cal de sac off of Creekwood Lane. The extension would serve as a point of access for Copper Creek.
Meridian Township Manager Frank Walsh explained what this revised plan would look like for residents living on Creekwood Lane.
"And there would be an emergency gate erected between the neighborhood on Creekwood and Copper Creek that would be for emergency use only. I think the residents are satisfied with the outcome, Copper Creek Developer is satisfied with the outcome and it's before you this evening," Walsh said.
Copper Creek will consist of 91 single-family homes built onto 44-acres of land, and will be located on the north side of Haslett Road, east of Creekwood Lane.
