MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A draft version of the Village of Okemos Concept Plans by True North were revealed at the Meridian Township Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Meeting on February 4th.

“This is very preliminary. We are excited about this and think it’s the right project at the right time,” stated Developer Will Randle.

This is not the first time the Okemos Village Concept Plans have been shared. True North and Township staff have been meeting with various neighborhood groups, interested stakeholders and entities for feedback on the future of what Downtown Okemos will look like.

Meridian Township Manager Frank Walsh stated, “What we see here is the Hamptons extended.”

Once the concept plans are finalized, True North plans on submitting a site plan in Spring 2019, with environmental clean-up taking place in summer 2019 and construction of the underground parking deck in Fall 2019.

Randle also stated he would love to have feedback from anyone and everyone regarding the concept plan; at the Planning Commission Meeting on February 11 and the Township Board Meeting on February 19 when updated concept plans will be presented. Public members are invited to attend both meetings to provide input and ask questions. Meeting dates, times and location are available on the Township website.
