MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the October 2nd Township Board meeting one of the items discussed was Rezoning #18110 Buckley. 

Don and Pat Buckley have requested the rezoning of two platted lots, approximately 0.18 acres in total size, from commercial to a single family-high density property. The Planning Commission held the public hearing on the rezoning request at its August 27th meeting and voted 9-0 to recommend approval at the September 10th meeting.

Pat Buckley explained to the board why this is important to her family.

"My daughter lives across the street and my husband has a medical condition that requires us to leave our two story home and get into a one story ranch," said Buckley. "It just never occurred to us that when we bought this property that it would become commercial once it was torn down."

The Board decided to move forward making the request an action item at their next meeting.

The site is located on the east side of Martinus Street, north of Lake Lansing Road, and west of Marsh Road.
