MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - During the April 17th Meridian Township Board meeting, the fourth discussion item to take place was the CATA Contract and Redi-Ride Service Agreement
Redi-Ride is an advance-reservation, curb-to-curb transportation service, and is operated by the Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA).
The Board's discussion was primarily focused on a contract that had previously been prepared that incorporates the current Redi-Ride program into a formal Redi-Ride Service Agreement
The proposed agreement encompasses the original letter of agreement in May of 2000, the updated service plan letter of agreement of August 2004 and also reflects the existing boundary adjustments that were altered by the Township Board in conjunction with CATA this past February.
Assistant Township Manager and Director of Public Works & Engineering Derek Perry presented the subject to the Board, stating, "There was a desire to incorporate them (CATA & Redi-Ride) into more of a formal document. Really what the contract lays out is how Redi-Ride is being operated currently in the Township. I know that there have been some discussions about should we be tweaking it, or modifying it one way or the other, but the original charge was basically develop a contract that lays out what they're doing now in the Township. "
The Township Board did not come to a final decision during the meeting, and agreed to bring the topic back for further discussion during a future meeting.
