MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the Meridian Township Board meeting on February 20th, the Board passed a motion to continue fire services to parts of Alaiedon Township.
The Alaiedon Township, located between Delhi and Meridian, doesn't have its own full-time fire department, but instead receives service under the Delhi Fire Department.
The only problem is the Delhi Fire Department can take about 20 minutes to get the population center, which is located on the Meridian Township boarder.
"Our fire station is so close that they can literally be there in about 30 seconds," said Julie Brixie, Meridian Township Treasurer.
This agreement originally started three years ago and was just renewed for another three years.
