MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - This summer, residents can jump their way to Meridian Mall's newest addition. Officials at the Meridian Mall have confirmed that Launch Trampoline Park will open a 31,989 square foot entertainment center this summer.
The venue will include 15,000 feet of trampolines, two dodge ball courts, a volleyball court and an area for bubble ball. Laser tag, a concession stand, party rooms and an arcade will also be available.
According to the press release, "Owners Matt and Valerie Dalson, along with their 16 year old son Kade, are thrilled to open their first location in Okemos with plans to open up the facility for local dodge ball and volleyball leagues. 'Playing competitive sports on trampolines brings a whole new level of excitement to the game. We are excited to work together with the Okemos community and local schools on special events, including corporate functions, family reunions, school field trips as well as fundraisers.' The Dalson’s plan to begin hiring a staff of up to 50 associates this spring. "
The trampoline park will be located in the former Gordmans location which closed in April 2017. The former Gordmans store is approximately 50,000 square feet, which was an addition to the mall in 2015. Meridian Mall officials were unable to release what will occupy the remainder of the space.
“I am thrilled to welcome Launch Trampoline Park to the Meridian community. In the face of changing retail shopping trends, the Meridian Mall’s success in attracting an entertainment-based tenant was a fantastic plan. Filling nearly 40,000 square feet of vacancy with one tenant is a great accomplishment. I wish them all the best,” said Meridian Township Economic Development Director Chris Buck.
