New Business Development Causes Business Owner to Relocate

OKEMOS, MI - Mitten Raised a bakery in downtown Okemos, known for it's delectable sweets, is having to relocate. The news comes to the public after the forth-coming closing of Ace Hardware a business that has been in downtown Okemos for more than 40 years.

Jim Raynak the owner of Ace Hardware and landlord of Arty Party Studio, Special A'fare Catering and Mitten Raised Bakery has announced his retirement and has given his tenants less than 2 months to move out of their spaces.

Mitten Raised owner Kate Lambert says that she hasn't even been in the downtown Okemos location a complete year, and to find out that she has to relocate is shocking.

Lambert has called Okemos home for the last 6 months, and while she is not certain to where she will exactly relocate her business to, she knows that staying in the Okemos area is ideal and preferred.

While there is no set-in-stone plan for downtown Okemos' revitalization, Mixed use is said to be a prospect. Mixed-use development will blend property used for commercial and residential space.

Customers can get more information and updates on Mitten Raised's new location on their Facebook page.
