MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - July was Park and Recreation Month, and that's what Meridian Township Parks and Recreation was all about for its fun filled July as weekly games and activities were celebrated for families and people of all ages.
Playing is a pivotal part of an individual's mental well-being, physical health, and personal interactions, and Meridian Township parks and recreation facilities continue to strive and be that places where people can play, relax and have fun.
Each week in July there were games and activities offered throughout the parks within the Township, which were free and open to everyone!
"Our parks department takes a lot of pride in our parks. We prep it at every game, and we line it at every game. We make sure it's just a safety factor, we make sure it's quality programs both on the field and off the field," explained Parks and Recreation Specialist Mike Devlin.
Although summer recreational leagues for all ages are a huge part of Meridians summer and fall Parks and Recreation, July was a little more unique in celebrating that.
Some of the activities included Games and crafts in Marshall Park, Free Pizza and Games for Teens Towar Park, and even a fun filled Family Olympics and BBQ at Central Park.
