MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Every spring the Meridian Garden Club host their annual plant sale, which is their biggest fundraiser of the year. The plant sale is held at the Meridian Farmers' Market.
Co-Chair of the Meridian Garden Club Plant Sale Deborah Angell says all the member are really good about participating in the plant sale. “These are all from our gardens. Occasionally people will donate some extra plants to us, but these we know are going to grow around here because they grow in our gardens,” said Angell.
Angell went on to say their repeat customers get to the sale early to make sure they get the best plants. Proceeds from the plant sale go towards the beautification of Meridian Township. The Meridian Garden Club works on the Meridian Historical Village, Okemos Post Office gardens, and any other projects they vote to work on that year. Proceeds also go towards youth programs to help children in the community become interested in gardening.
