MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - From a small house in Lansing to a welcoming facility right in the center of Meridian Township. The Michigan Women's Historical Center & Hall of Fame is making its mark on the community.
Bringing knowledge and awareness, the Michigan Women's Historical Center & Hall of Fame is the first of it's kind in the state. It's the only museum in Michigan dedicated to women’s history and honors the achievements of remarkable Michigan women through the years.
With the new location being in Meridian Mall, it allows for the Historical Center & Hall of Fame to reach new heights. From wheelchair accessibility to new exhibits, it's new facility is already exceeding expectations.
"We've only been open for a week and a half now, but in that first week, we broke visitation records for the first month! So we're really excited for the possibilities here," explained Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame Executive Director Caitlyn Perry Dial.
The center will also be receiving new additions to better display and reinterpret the women within the Hall of Fame. Although the museum has been open to the public for over a week, the official grand reopening is on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 12 pm.
