Meridian Township Hosts Intergovernmental Meeting

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Board held it's intergovernmental meeting on Thursday, March 31st. This meeting consisted of different representatives from the area school boards, Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) and the Ingham County Road Department (ICRD), coming to speak about policies and upcoming projects for Ingham County for the upcoming year.

Bill Conklin, the Managing Director of the ICRD, spoke about the Jolly and Okemos Road Intersection Project. At the meeting, when asked about how the new right turn lanes that will be added will affect signal timing he said, "there is always an ongoing effort to keep those optimized... we're always looking to improve signal timing. The funding certainly helps to replace older equipment."

During the meeting, there were several other discussions as well including, the CATA BRT and fiber optic poles which will replace cellular power lines with cellular poles in the community.
