LANSING - Trump supporters gathered at the Lansing State Capitol for one of 41 Make America Great Again rallies happening across the country. Supporters draped in "Make America Great Again" gear stood in front of the Capitol holding American flags chanting "U.S.A" and "We Love Trump".
"Donald Trump is making so many great things happen, we are here because we love our country and we love our president," said supporter Jim Dively.
The march was held not only to show support for President Trump but also to collect donations for veterans and homeless veterans in the Lansing area.
"We collected for two different agencies that benefited veterans and the military,' said coordinator of the rally Cathy Mila. "We are here to support Trump but also to raise awareness and make a difference,"
New clothing, food, blankets and monetary donations were collected and given to the Advent House in Lansing and the Freedom Center.
"We wanted to make this a positive thing, I think many Americans have more in common than they do different. I just hope we can come together and make our country better," said Mila.
Supporters at the Capitol demonstrated peacefully although, some of the rallies in other states saw scuffles between Trump supporters and those who came to demonstrate against them.
