MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township's 175th annual pancake breakfast held last Saturday on March 11th, helped raise money for a local boy scouts troop. The money was presented in a check today at Meridian's Township Hall. Present were the local boy scouts, Meridian Township Fire Department and other Township officials.
Andrew Stevens, one of the local boy scouts from troop 125, located in Okemos, talked about the event held last Saturday,
"There was a lot of people there, obviously the firefighters they were in the kitchen cooking, and I jumped back there a little bit to help them get some more food out."
Andrew also went on to talk about how great the energy was at the pancake breakfast. He said that it was good exposure for their boy scouts troop to help get the word out that there our boy scout troops available to be joined. Stevens and the other boys from different troops helped serve the food along with the team of Meridian's firefighters.
The pancake breakfast raised $1000 for the local Cub and Boy Scout troops and $300 was raised for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
