OKEMOS - Bob Bullock, the former Assistant Principal at Chippewa Middle School In Okemos retired earlier this week after an investigation into posts on his Facebook page.
The Okemos School Board and the Okemos Schools Superintendent were emailed by a parent on February 23, concerning Facebook posts by Bullock that were thought to be racist.
Catherine Ash, the Superintendent for Okemos Public Schools sent HOMTV this statement: "The comments were his personal thoughts and were certainly not representative of the values and beliefs of the Okemos Public Schools’, the Board of Education or our school community. Prior to completing the investigation, Mr. Bullock communicated his intent to retire. On behalf of the district, I accepted his voluntary resignation/retirement. Since he has no intention of returning to the Okemos Public Schools, the investigation will not continue."
Bullocks position will be filled on an interim or temporary basis for the remainder of the school year.
