$2,000,000 Goes Toward a New Park in Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the February 21st, Township Board meeting, the board voted to pass the Towner Road Park Bid Award.

Almost $2,000,000 was awarded to Towner Road Park as a means to start the construction of multiple new facilities. The former apple gate driving range will now be a 23 and a half acre park, including 2 full size athletic fields, baseball diamonds, pavilion and a running path around the perimeter.

“The residents of the Haslett area have been waiting for this to occur, and so we're very excited to be able to more forward with this,” said Meridian Township's Parks and Recreation Director LuAnn Maisner.

The Board unanimously agreed to the Towner Road Park Bid Award and construction will start early this year. The park will be completed sometime in 2019.
