HOLT - Friday October 7th, the Holt Rams hosted the Okemos Chieftains. Both teams were searching for a critical win, and what came down to a defensive battle towards the end, worked in Holt’s favor.
Throughout the night both teams went back and forth on possessions. The beginning of the 3rd quarter, Holt was leading by a touchdown when Jason Pridgeon finds Patrick Nungent tying the game 14-14.
Holt quickly responded trying to secure their lead tying the game yet again.
Okemos tied up the game with the score being 21-21. After trying to make up for some lost yardage Holt struggled to get the first down deep into Okemos territory, and settled for a field goal.
Three and out was all it for them to hand Okemos their 6th loss of the season.
“We’ll just keep doing the same things we’ve always done, we're gonna keep running the ball and stopping their run. Jackson is a great team and they have a great offense, we're gonna have to watch a lot of film and get really smart within the next week," said Head Coach Chad Fulk.
