LANSING - The Lansing Everett Vikings got their first win of the season at the Sept. 9th game against the Okemos Chiefs.
The Vikings who were 0-2 coming into the matchup showed early signs of wanting to turn the tables; scoring on their first possession proved them right.
What was a close game in the first half was shortly turned around late in the third quarter when they pulled ahead of the Okemos Chiefs with a 66-yard touchdown by Leslie Buck.
“Were learning how to play together, were trying to run the ball a little more now. I think playing together and knowing the expectations of the situations is helping us quite a bit,” said Head Football Coach Marcelle Carruthers.
The Vikings hope to carry this momentum into next week when they take on Holt of their homecoming game.
“More consistency and more wins and what we can hope for the rest of the season,” said Corruthers
