MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Volunteers recently gathered to help wrap gifts with a certain group of people in mind.
Home Instead Senior Care helps organize the annual event, Be A Santa To A Senior, to help get gifts to the elderly in Meridian Township. Many people this holiday season will be thankful when they receive their gift which can range from blankets to home appliances. There was a large turn out from volunteers from carious organizations including Heartland Home Health and Hospice, Sutton Advisors and many others. Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner Wynn Esterline was thrilled with the turnout of volunteers and the assistance they had to offer in making this event possible.
"We're talking hundreds of gifts. We're talking almost a full day event of wrapping so the volunteers are wonderful. They came here bright and early 8:30, 9:00 this morning and they are still going now closer to noon and we still have a ways to go"
Esterline and his franchise are always looking for help around the holidays and they appreciate everyone involved in making this event possible every year. They believe this truly is a season of giving especially for those people in the area who don't have families to go to for the holidays. Event's like Be A Santa To A Senior are one the many ways they feel they can give back this holiday season.
