OKEMOS - The Best of the Best Football Camp drew Division I, II and III coaches from all over the state of Michigan to Okemos High on Thursday, June 16.
The inaugural camp was the brain child of Okemos athletics.
"Coach Wallace and I sat down, and we thought about a plan and a way to really help Mid-Michigan from a football standpoint," Okemos Athletic Director Ira Childress said after the event.
The plan came to fruition.
"It was everyone coming together for a common goal and the common goal was to help football student athletes really get an understanding of not only what college football and what that's like but what it's like to be successful at the high school level," Childress said.
Childress hopes to use this inaugural camp as a benchmark for the years ahead.
"We are looking to do more of these in the future because this one was a success by all accounts."
