MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Fun, food and music sounds like enough for a great time, but Celebrate Meridian gave a little of everything to make the time worth while.

Celebrate Meridian took place in Downtown Okemos.

Over 3,000 people came out to soak up the fun at the family-friendly event, while also enjoying the free activities that were offered.

"It was something for the kids...to get them out the house," said local resident AJ Slone.

A business expo, arts and crafts fair, inflatables, youth fishing derby, beer and wine tents and performances were just some of the events that took place.

This family-fun day has become large enough to be called a community wide event.

Celebrate Meridian had their kick off with the 5K Run/walk that was sponsored by Playmakers.
