MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Here at Goldfish Swim School when it comes to swimming it's never too early to start.
Bryer is a little over 2 years old, but she is already learning how to swim.
Her father, Ryan Topham says," He just doesn't want to take any chances."
"Once the children are ale to swim well, we'll feel safer too," states Topham. "It's all about safety first."
Parents with similar safety concerns turn to Goldfish Swim School in Okemos.
Sarah Mesner says the school teaches children critical skills in the water to kids as early as 4 months.
"The early you start them the easier it is for them not to be afraid of the water," claims Mesner.
Toddlers learn everything from developing motor skills to learning how to float.
But Sarah warns children should never be without adult supervision or a lifeguard.
