OKEMOS - Okemos lacrosse celebrated its Senior Day in a very big way. Not only did they run Rockford right out of town, 13-5, but they raised funds to fight cancer in the process.
Friday night marked "Cancer Awareness" day for Chiefs lacrosse, as it hosted one of its greatest challengers all season long in the Division I Rams.
After suffering a tough defeat at the hands of Detroit Catholic Central, Okemos returned home fired up, scoring the first six goals of the night against Rockford.
The girls team had a much tougher challenge, facing the three-time defending Division I state champion Rams. They, too, saw a lopsided, 13-5, result, but fell on the losing end of things.
