UPDATE:
HASLETT - Despite the first big snow in Lansing area, several people still showed up to Okemos library to learn about the ongoing effort to protect the sunken Arizona that was bombed on Pearl Harbor day.
The Okemos library hosted Carol Linteau, a researcher for the National Park Service to celebrate 70th anniversary on Pearl Harbor. Linteau has been assisting under water archaeology projects and researching the impact of possible oil release after the ship was sunk which she gave a presentation on.
After her presentation, visitors who had been to memorial, talked about the impact of each visit, as well as the importance of remembering significant moments in the U.S. history.
Linteau plans on giving more presentations on her research this month within Lansing area for the community.
